nessViewer (64 bit) & Photos App support

The 64-bit version of nessViewer 3.7 for Mac is now extended to even more "Photos App" support: whereas previously the media center could already access the "Photos App" media (by the way also the 32-bit version), you can now also import the media of the "Photos App" into a media show with the 64 bit version. But not only the media of the "Photos App" but also media from Aperture, Final Cut (Pro), iMovie, iPhoto and Photo Booth.

The import of the "Photos App" media in a media show is especially important because the "Photos App" exports media without GPS data: if, for example, a picture with GPS data is dragged & dropped from the "Photos App" on the desktop, then the GPS data is missing. This makes obviously no sense - thus the media show does not support drag & drop from the "Photos App" into a media show drawer.

Once you have imported the media of the "Photos App" in a media show, you can drag & drop the media from the drawer on the desktop (or anywhere else) - with GPS data. Although a small detour, but without data loss.

nessMediaCenter 1.5 & nessViewer 3.5 available

Until now, DLNA media server (like Serviio, Plex Media Server) were only available by the "DLNA Browser" of nessViewer.
Now we integrated the DLNA / UPnP access into the media center, so users of nessMediaCenter (and nessViewer) can access their media by DLNA too.
In the preferences you can (de) activate DLNA in the media center menu settings.
If DLNA is not displayed after activation, then EyeTV users should check if EyeTV is sharing its media library - in this case, the EyeTV sharing must be deactivated because it uses the same port.

In nessViewer the media show offers now a context menu for the selected media entry in the drawer: open media in the document window (for editing), and open the internet media browser or download the media.

In addition, a number of provider offer have been adjusted, including Austrian and Dutch television.

In March, we added some more new features like waking up the system by remote control, improved iTunes control handling and iTunes DRM playback.

nessViewer 2.8 available (media show export)

After getting an iPad, we like to watch movies and videos on it. But until now we had to convert each movie/video in a single step. Now the media show export was extended:

1.) Movies can be converted for AppleTV/iPad/iPhone/iPod touch.

2.) Beside the optional resizing, the format and compression for pictures can now also be set.

The YouTube web side developers seem to change the web side very often which is not a new news. But we wish a.) they would finish their work and then update the web side and b.) the web side would offer new movies.

nessViewer 2.7 available

After several requests the MediaCenter allows now to select the arrow keys used for previous/next entry and level up - either left/right/up or up/down/left.

A cover and description can now be set for media shows by the movie info and will be shown in the MediaCenter.

Also the automatic creation of QuickTime movie previews is now available in the movie info. Available on user request since some QuickTime movies need time to show the preview in the MediaCenter.

Please note that for DVDs it can take also time to show a cover - this can be influenced by the MediaCenter preferences: as more providers will be used to find a cover the more time it can take.

The ARD-Mediathek videos are now available again in the MediaCenter.

nessViewer demo videos at YouTube

At YouTube are now several demo videos available which show the functionality of nessViewer.

From the installation to the MediaCenter or the arrangement of media shows (playlists) - take a look how you can use nessViewer to enjoy media!

Currently the videos are taken from a German MacOS - but we hope that even so you get an idea...

nessViewer App 1.4 available (iPad & Spiegel Online)

With iOS 4.2 nessViewer App is now also available for iPad. With the big screen it is even more fun to watch movie trailers or movies and news from e.g. Spiegel Online.

Certainly we have to improve the main menu - here we are currently working on a solution with icons.

As a new provider we have added Spiegel Online, a leading portal for German and worldwide news and reportages.

Media shows (playlists) can now be send by email or email attachments opened in nessViewer App or nessViewer for Mac. Thereby links to videos from e.g. DailyMotion or YouTube can be arranged and send to friends - there is no easier way to share video playlists with others!

In this context it might suggest again that we offer plenty of media shows with (among others) cartoons, movies or music in our download area for registered users. Entertainment lasting for hours - without even searching the internet.

Of course we will keep your registration data in confidence.

nessViewer App 1.2.1 for iPhone/iPod touch

After longer diskussions with Apple the nessViewer App is now available in the App Store.

We would like to thank explicit the several Apple employees/teams at this point!

The main focus of nessViewer App are the various internet video offers and the media shows (playlists).

The internet video offer contains momentary videos from DailyMotion, German television (podcasts), movie trailers (en/de), cinema movies from Free Movies Cinema, music videos from LastFM and videos from YouTube.

These videos can not only be presented but also collected in media shows, which can be saved and presented again later.

Via "Open URL" a web browser can be opened for the supported internet providers which allows to browse safely, play the videos and collect them in media shows.

The supported media (media shows, Office documents like Word or Excel, PDF documents, pictures, videos) can be transfered to the iPhone/iPod touch via iTunes.

For registered users we offer further internet video providers.

nessViewer 2.6.1 available (Web Browser)

Inspired by the nessViewer App (for iPhone/iPod touch) we integrated now a web browser in nessViewer.

The web pages of supported providers (e.g. DailyMotion, YouTube) can be loaded by a pop up. Movies will not be presented by plugins but rather in fullscreen mode by pressing "Present". Links to these movies can be added to a (new) media show by pressing the "+" button.

Registered users have access to more supported providers.

Another advantage is that web content, which is not from the provider, will be filtered.

In the near future we will extend this browser e.g. for downloads of movies.
